Golf and rain: Mixed emotions in Central California

On March 11, 127 golfers showed up to Kings River Golf & Country Club in Kingsburg, CA, hoping it would rain. The California Fresh Fruit Association held its 45th annual golf tournament under stormy conditions. Considering the historic drought in California, pouring rain on a day of golf causes some mixed emotions.

Barry Bedwell, president of the CFFA, and Cliff Sadoian, one of the event’s long-time organizers, spent a few minutes talking about the history of the of the golf tournament in the heart of the Central San Joaquin Valley.
