Nash Produce’s Southern Exposure exhibit to feature everything from personalized packaging to logistics

Nash Produce’s own President Thomas Joyner and Sales Associate Thomas Webb will be attending this year’s Southern Exposure conference, sitting behind booth No. 830 and welcoming attendees to its exhibit.

“We will be bringing each of our conventional varieties to this year’s show, which includes Covington, Murasaki and Bonita,” said Rebecca Scott, grower accounting and marketing director for the Nashville, NC-based company. “We will also be displaying our range of Mr. Yam value-added packaging. This includes individually wrapped microwavable potatoes, three-pound mesh bagged potatoes, and steamable packets composed of petite-sized potatoes for quick and convenient meals.”

bowl-high-resThose visiting the booth can expect to learn about Nash Produce’s full range of services from personalized packaging to logistics. They can also expect to learn about the company’s commitment to its customers and its relationship with a dedicated grower base.

“Southern Exposure brings many of our East Coast customers together in the same place, which allows us the opportunity to sit and talk in person,” Scott said. “Staff members do an excellent job getting all events set up and organized and we appreciate all the time and energy they put into preparing for these fantastic three days.”

Having the opportunity to spend personal time with customers is what the company looks forward to the most.

“This event allows us to touch base on business matters while still providing a casual atmosphere to get to catch up with them personally,” said Joyner.

“Just as one season closes, the next is quickly behind it. Staff is already talking about plans for the 2020 sweet potato crop that will be starting shortly. Granted it will be quite a few months before we have a full-grown potato from the new crop, but growers are getting prepared to start planting seed in the next few weeks.”

Nash Produce has always had a very good experience at SEPC’s Southern Exposure and have met several customers there, many of which it stills has a strong working relationship with today.

“We’ve been attending as a company since around 2008 and always look forward to the annual show year-after-year,” Scott said. “We prepare for a show by getting in touch with customers to see who will be attending.”

So far, 2020 has been a big year for the company as expansion is underway and Nash Produce expects to be able to provide even more for its customers in the months ahead.

“The beginning stages of the construction of our new storage facilities have begun and we are excited to expand our facilities for this upcoming year’s sweet potato crop,” Scott said. “These additional controlled atmosphere storage rooms will allow us to accommodate a great amount of fresh product to supply to customers.”
