Leonard M. Veri, president of Ontario-based Exeter Produce, died March 1 while on vacation in Asia. He was 76 years old.
Mr. Veri had a long history as a grower and shipper in the fresh produce industry. During his 55 years in the business, he established his fourth-generation family-owned-and-operated business into one of the larger field-fresh market vegetable producers in Ontario, expanding to farm over 4,000 acres of field crop. In more recent years, the company has entered into the greenhouse business, building a 25-acre state-of-the-art glass greenhouse.
“Len was always a voice of confidence and reason and will be dearly missed by all those who knew him,” a company press release stated.
