The Giumarra Cos., headquartered in Los Angeles, announced the expansion of its Nogales, AZ-based sales team with two new hires on Aug. 27.
ERNEST VALENCIA, a graduate of Arizona State University, with a degree in business, entered the produce industryupon graduating and most recently worked in sales for Nogales, AZ-based Farmer’s Best International.
TOM FRUDDEN attended California Polytechnic University, where he received a bachelor’s degree in crop science, andserved as sales manager for Firebaugh, CA-based Red Rooster Sales prior to joining Giumarra.
Mr. Valencia specializes in the dry fruit category, while Mr. Frudden’s expertise is in the tomato category. Both men will be responsible for selling Giumarra Nogales’s full line of vegetables and Fair Trade-certified melons grown in Mexico, including a line of USDA-certified organic products, according to a company press release.
“We are pleased with the growth of our sales staff and the new addition of Fair Trade-certified products this year,” Gil Munguia, division manager of Giumarra Nogales, said in the press release. “All aspects of our upcoming season are really falling into place.”
