Nogales, AZ-based Ciruli Bros. LLC and Sunnyside Packing Co., based in Selma, CA, have joined forces in a sales and marketing partnership that represents one of the more integrated, year-round, grower-shipper-packer operations in the western United States.
According to Ciruli Brothers COO, Chris Ciruli, chief operating officer for Ciruli Bros., said in a press release that the companies' combined strength in California and Mexico "will allow customers to benefit from fresh, quality products 365 days per year," adding that the partnership also enables the companies to provide large-scale distribution capabilities across the United States and Canada, with shipping points in California, Arizona and Texas.
The Sunnyside-Ciruli partnership is unique in the sense that both companies will be vertically integrated, enabling them to control all aspects of the operation, from the growing and packing to the marketing of their products.
Sunnyside Packing General Manager Todd Hirasuna said that "partnering with Ciruli Brothers provided us the perfect opportunity to become a year-round supplier with a company that believes in doing business the same way we do — by providing superior quality coupled with unsurpassed customer service in the most upstanding and ethical manner."
Both companies are family-owned and have a collective experience of almost 140 years.
"We couldn't be more excited to join forces with Sunnyside Packing," Chuck Ciruli, chief executive officer of Ciruli Bros., added in the press release. "The friendship between our families dates back to the 1970s, and with both companies bringing over three generations of growing experience, it felt like a natural fit because our visions are very much aligned."
Mr. Hirasuna added, "As multi-generational companies, we are fortunate to have impeccable role models who laid a solid foundation that we can collectively stand on."
Customers of Ciruli Bros. and Sunnyside Packing can continue to expect the same great quality and service, with year-round availability and a unified focus on food safety and sustainability, the companies stated in the press release.
