Wholesum Harvest Facebook contest seeks creative cooks

Organic grower Wholesum Harvest is giving its Facebook fans a chance to showcase their culinary chops, as well as their photography skills, in a new cooking contest that will run March 1 through Nov. 1.

The contest, “It’s All About Cooking,” invites cooks to whip up their favorite recipes using Wholesum Harvest produce and to post pictures of their finished dishes on the company’s Facebook page for the chance to win prizes. Based on the total number of votes that each photograph receives, Wholesum Harvest will select a contest winner every month through November to receive an elegant Porsche stainless steel chef’s knife.

Moreover, each week the company will award Wholesum Harvest aprons, oven mitts and cutting boards to randomly selected contest registrants who also “like” its Facebook page.

“We are excited to see how people are using our fresh, organic produce in their own kitchens,” Wholesum Harvest’s Ricardo Crisantes, general manager, said in a press release. “Social media, such as Facebook, provide a great forum to share new recipes and ideas. We hope that people will enjoy the spirit of this contest and invite friends and family to participate as well.”

Wholesum Harvest is also encouraging people to visit its website,, to access the company’s own exclusive recipes, developed in cooperation with renown chef, Tony Merola.

“Eating a diet of all-natural, organic produce has fantastic benefits for our overall health. By encouraging people to think creatively about ways to prepare our fresh produce, we hope to inspire them to make better food choices,” said Mr. Crisantes. “So let’s get cooking!”
