Dan Wohlford, national marketing representative for Oneonta Starr Ranch Growers, said the firm will add organic stone fruit to its manifest this season. “We will start with apricots, peaches, nectarines and pluots,” he said.
The company is located in Wenatchee, WA, and is one of the Evergreen State’s premier tree fruit growers.
Conditions are ripe for a good season. “It has been a wonderful spring,” Wohlford said. “We couldn’t have asked for better weather conditions so far. We anticipate start dates to begin with apricots about the week of June 9. Nectarines should start mid-July, approximately the 13th to 19th, with peaches starting the end of July, around the 20th to 26th. Pluots will start the end of August around the 30th.”
Fruit is marketed under the company’s flagship label, “Starr Ranch Growers,” to customers throughout North America.
