Double D rebranding to reflect organic focus

Double D Farms will now be known as Devine Organics. Double D was formed over 20 years ago. Over the years its growing efforts have become more concentrated on organic produce. With about 75 percent of the business now focused on organics, the new identity reflects this shift.

Owners Don and Elvia Devine know that the organic consumer is an informed consumer, therefore packing, labeling and branding will reflect an organic look and feel, connecting their produce to the organic farming practices being used.

Devine Organics started shipping organic blueberries in early May, and cantaloupes, onions and sweet corn in mid-May. Conventional produce will still carry the “Double D Farms” label, which retailers have trusted for over 20 years.

Asparagus has also been planted in Baja, CA, which will begin shipping again in August of this year. Devine Organics will be marketing organic asparagus year-round in 2014.

In addition to the identity change, Devine Organics also added Rod Rosales as sales manager. Rosales spent 15 years in sales with WesPak, and with 28 years overall in the produce industry, Devine Organics attributes much of the success of the launch of the new brand to his experienced efforts.
