Over 800 attend FPFC Northern California expo

PLEASANTON, CA — More than 800 people attended the Fresh Produce & Floral Council Expo, which was held here Wednesday, March 30, at the Alameda Fairgrounds.

The one-day event drew scores of exhibitors and hundreds of attendees, who browsed through a large exhibit for the better part of seven hours. The exhibitors included many produce growers and shippers, floral operators and numerous food brokers.

Greg Corrigan, vice president of produce and floral for Raley’s Supermarkets, headquartered in Sacramento, CA, said he brought about 20 members of his produce and floral team, which included produce managers, supervisors and buyers. He noted that the event gave his personnel the opportunity to

Carissa Mace, president of the council, said that the attendance exceeded expectations, as there were many more walk-up registrants than in previous years. She said that the Northern California produce industry is very appreciative of the event and supports it well.

The FPFC will also hold an expo in mid-July in Southern California at the Disneyland Hotel Convention Center in Anaheim. At that event, basketball great Bill Walton will be the keynote speaker.
