Fresh Produce & Floral Council luncheon

5-VanessaNearly 300 people attended the Fresh Produce & Floral Council Membership Luncheon on Wednesday, June 25, at the Sheraton Cerritos in Cerritos, CA.

Sheryl Salazar, assistant produce sales manager of Albertsons Southern California, served as the luncheon emcee, while Steven Muro, president and chief executive officer of Fusion Marketing, was the featured speaker. Muro's speech on the rapidly changing produce shopping experience focused on topics ranging from store size to technology to the competition retailers face from online shopping sites such as Amazon.

The FPFC is gearing up for its annual Southern California Fresh Produce & Floral Expo, which takes place at the Disneyland Hotel in Anaheim, CA, July 15.

Before the luncheon, Dennis Gertmenian of Foxdale Properties and Kristen Reid of Mixtec Group led the FPFC Apprentice Program Leadership & Management Seminar.
