Allegiance Retail Services holds annual holiday show

allegiance321EDISON, NJ — Close to 500 people gathered Thursday, July 25, for Allegiance Retail Services LLC's annual holiday buying show, held here at the New Jersey Convention & Exposition Center.

The show also drew "in excess of 250 booths" to the all-day event, according to Victor Savanello, director of produce and floral at Allegiance, a retailer-owned cooperative headquartered in Iselin, NJ.

The holiday show had previously been limited to the perishables segments of retail, such as bakery, deli, dairy, meat and, of course, fresh produce, but has now expanded to "every department in the store for the Foodtown, D'Agostino and other independent banners serviced by Allegiance," Savanello told The Produce News during the show.
