IGSA president to take post with the IPC

SUN VALLEY, ID — Travis Blacker, president of the Idaho Grower Shipper Association, will leave his post at the end of September to become industry relations director for the Idaho Potato Commission. The announcement was made Aug. 30 during the 84th annual IGSA convention, here.

Mr. Blacker joined the association four years ago as president, replacing Dave Smith, who retired following a 28-year tenure with the Idaho Falls-based organization. He will assume the duties of Todd Cornelison, who is leaving after five years with the commission to take a more active role in his family's business, High Country Potato in Rexburg, ID. Mr. Cornelison was the commission's first director of industry relations.

"I am thrilled about Travis joining the commission," said Frank Muir, president of the commission. "IGSA is not losing Travis, but the entire Idaho potato industry is gaining him. And we are committed to having Travis replace himself.  That is our number one priority."
