Meg Miller has been promoted from manager to director of Produce Marketing Association's public relations activities, according to an Aug. 6 press release issued by the association.
Ms. Miller joined PMA in August 2010 as public relations manager, executing elements of PMA's public relations programming. In her new role, she will direct all PMA's public relations activities supporting the association's strategic direction including corporate communications, stakeholder relations, crisis preparedness,issues management and media relations.
"Meg came to us with solid agricultural public relations and issue communications skills, which she has strengthened and refined during her time with us," Lorna Christie, chief operating officer at PMA, said in the press release. "What cemented this promotion is her deep personal commitment to our industry, which makes her a powerful industry advocate."
Prior to joining PMA, Ms. Miller was the communications manager for Mid-Atlantic Dairy Association in Philadelphia, a nonprofit association that works to build demand and sales of milk and dairy foods on behalf of dairy farmers. She was responsible for industry image and relations, and nutrition affairs communications, to more than 7,200 stakeholders and hundreds of health professionals in the Mid-Atlantic region.
Ms. Miller earned a bachelor's degree in public relations, with a specialization in science, from Rowan University in Glassboro, NJ. She resides with her husband, Brandon, and son, Connor, on their dairy farm in southern New Jersey.
