MCL Fresh Inc., a Los Angeles-based grower, packer and shipper of organic, conventional and specialty fruits and vegetables, announced that Sheri Normandin (formerly Sheri Mierau) has been named director of sales and customer relations.
Ms. Normandin previously worked as the director of produce for Ahold and was also a branch manager with Safeway. She served as president of the California Tree Fruit Agreement for three of the six yearsshe worked with the organization.
"Sheri's deep industry knowledge and ability to articulate the advantages of MCL's unique programs make her a perfect MCL spokesperson," MCL President David Lake said in a press release.
"While I was considering multiple positions, the opportunity to work with David Lake and the entire MCL team to continue developing MCL's programs was an opportunity I did not want to let go by," Ms. Normandin said in the press release. "I was attracted to MCL because of the excitement and energy.
"MCL's Los Angeles facility is jaw-dropping, and the company's ability to deliver amazing product in year-round programs is attracting retailers who want to deliver excellence for their customers," she added.

MCL's more unique programs include green beans, snow and sugar snap peas, baby bok choy and brussels sprouts. Along with its premium conventional "4-Earth" and "Real Organics" brands, private labeling is a key focus of the company, which has growing and packing operations in over 14 growing regions across the globe.
