Los Gatos, CA-based Foodlink Online hired MIA FARBER as its director of Foodlink Local in June.
In her new role at Foodlink, Ms. Farber will leverage the company’s technology to increase consumer access to locally and regionally grown foods in grocery stores across the country. Her responsibilities include bringing small growers wishing to sell into high-volume markets into the company’s network, facilitating aggregation and distribution challenges facing local food systems, and helping buyers to locate growers in their regions and retailers to appropriately merchandise local product in stores.
Before joining the team at Foodlink, Ms. Farber worked for the Pennsylvania Association for Sustainable Agriculture as an outreach coordinator growing consumer awareness of Pennsylvania-grown products. She also served in the U.S. Peace Corps for two years in Peru from 2005-07, and most recently Ms. Farber completed her MBA at the University of North Carolina’s Kenan-Flager Business School.
Ms. Farber recently moved across the country from the East Coast to Santa Cruz, CA. In her spare time, she enjoys visiting Farmers’ Markets, hiking, cooking and practicing yoga.
