Oxnard, CA-based Mission Produce Inc. announced in a company press release the addition of BROOKE FRANKLIN to its sales staff.
Ms. Franklin was raised in Fresno, CA, and is a recent graduate of California Polytechnic State University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in agribusiness.
Starting with Mission in March as an intern, she assisted export sales by coordinating orders to Japan and Canada, and worked closely with domestic sales, designing a store-check program to evaluate and ensure quality product at the retail level. She spent two weeks in Chicago, implementing her store-check system.
With a complete understanding of the company and market, Ms. Franklin is embracing her role as domestic sales representative. Her new responsibilities include managing current and prospective accounts, as well as attending various industry trade events.
BRETT LIBKE has recently joined the Oppenheimer team as the new sales representative in the company’s Newark, DE, office.
Mr. Libke comes to Oppenheimer after a decade and a half with C.H. Robinson Worldwide Inc., working in various sales and management roles over the years. He has experience in the produce, supply chain and logistics industries, and plans to focus his seasoned sales approach on helping Oppenheimer bring product to market.
“My background has been mainly selling to retailers as a third party or broker, and I saw this position with Oppenheimer as a great opportunity to become more tied to the actual supply end of the product,” said Mr. Libke. “Oppenheimer offers a different perspective on the industry, and I was drawn to the company partly because of the emphasis it places on grower relationships.”
Mr. Libke’s previous experience creating, managing and selling nationally-distributed, multi-million-dollar lines of value-added products made him a standout among his competition, according to Bill Poulos, sales manager in Oppenheimer’s Newark office.
Previously, Mr. Libke was responsible for setting up the national network of manufacturers and distributors for a sliced-apple campaign where he also oversaw the management of partnerships and spearheaded sales around the product line. He has launched promotional, cross merchandising, and volume incentive programs for nationally recognized consumer-branded items.
Leading retail strategist HEIDI CHAPNICK joined FreshXperts Sept. 14 as the produce consortium’s e-commerce expert, according to a company press release. FreshXperts, which provides comprehensive consulting services for the produce industry, will rely on Ms. Chapnick to advise clients about Internet marketing optimization, as well as setting up and managing their on-line shopping experiences.
“Heidi understands e-commerce, and her insight into how to market and sell on-line is remarkable,” Anthony Totta, business development and marketing expert for FreshXperts, said in the press release. “She has identified tools and strategies to streamline the on-line shopping experience and drive web-generated sales. Because of the tremendous potential benefits for our clients, it is with great anticipation that we enthusiastically welcome Heidi to the FreshXperts team.”
Ms. Chapnick is the owner and chief executive officer of Channalysis, a consultancy specializing in cross-channel commerce, a term referring to the manner in which companies reach and convert customers by integrating messages in multiple information channels. She provides consulting and speaking services internationally.
