Mission Produce Inc., based in Oxnard CA, has hired Ben Barnard as its new director of fulfillment distribution center operations. Barnard joined Mission late in October.
After graduating from Cal Poly University-San Luis Obispo in 2009, Barnard went to work for Naturipe Farms in the product management division, where he gained experience in fruit allocation, growing regions and sales. He was responsible for the distribution of raspberries, blackberries and strawberries throughout FDC’s across the United States, including imports from South America and Mexico.
After a few years at Naturipe, Barnard accepted a position with Taylor Farms in 2011 as the director of operations for regional sourcing, where his duties included transportation and cooler operations, as well as complete property, personnel and asset management for all of the shipping facilities.
“We are excited to bring Ben onboard as his prior work experience will allow him to fulfill the duties required to manage all eight Mission North American FDC’s,” said Jeremy Currier, vice president of distribution and logistics.
