Coastline Produce commodity manager dies in car accident

AUSTIN J.P. MIGOTTI of Coastline Produce died in a car accident on April 11. He was 27 years old.

“Austin was a fun-loving person who lived his life to the fullest,” said Vivian Sotelo, marketing manager for Coastline Produce. “He was also up for anything. Whether it was a last minute camping trip, or you needed him to sub for a Saturday at work, he was always ready and willing. He was one of those people who never complained and could always be counted on.”

IMG 1136-editMr. Migotti, a Gonzales, CA, resident, first began working for the Salinas, CA-based company in January of 2011, after graduating from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. His can-do attitude allowed him to quickly work his way up from sales professional to commodity manager, where he handled parsley, Italian parsley, cilantro, spinach, leeks bok choy and napa cabbage.

“Austin was the heart of Coastline's excitement and jokes,” Ms. Sotelo added. “He could make anyone laugh at any given moment. Austin was like everyone's brother stated by a close customer that had a daily relationship with him.  We miss his kindness, support, dedication and humor here at Coastline.”

Mr. Migotti was a member of Young Farmers and Ranchers, San Luis Obispo; and the San Luis Obispo Vintners and Growers Association.

He is survived by his parents, Steve and Valerie Migotti, Nonie Dolores Migotti; grandmother, Doris Hughey; brother, Danny (Tricia) Stracner; sister, Melanie Stracner; nieces, Brittanie and Marlene and his beloved Cari and dog Bella.

A memorial mass is scheduled for April 19 at St. Theodore’s Church in Gonzales, CA. Memorial donations in Austin's honor may be made to Woods Humane Society of San Luis Obispo, 875 Oklahoma Ave., San Luis Obispo, CA 93405.
