CF Fresh, a leading marketer of organic produce based in Sedro-Woolley, WA, is eagerly awaiting the season’s first arrival of imported fresh organic cherries from Argentina. The first shipments were expected to arrive by air freight Nov. 28, and were to be offered for sale immediately.
This year’s crop of organic Bing cherries are sweet, dark red and available in extra large and jumbo sizes. The cherries are certified organic by Argencert and packed in 11-pound masters containing 10 catch-weight bags of just over a pound each.
“There is a lot of anticipation building for these cherries,” Matt Roberts, sales manager for CF Fresh, said in a Nov. 21 press release. “They are a sweet winter treat for consumers looking for something special around the holidays. We are looking forward to a really positive reception and strong demand.”
The cherries will be shipped by air freight directly from Argentina to New York, Miami and Los Angeles. They are grown in the Rio Negro region of Argentina, which is well known for the production of top-quality tree fruits.
