The "Nature's Pick" label, which has a newly designed eye-catching theme designed to stand out in the industry, will be released the week of Nov. 7.

The new display-ready carton will reduce labor costs and cardboard waste at retail and make it easier for consumers to examine product.

"We have felt the need to introduce a fresh, new and more cost-effective idea for the retailers to display our citrus," Dennis Holbrook, president of South Tex Organics LC, said in a press release. "We believe the retailer using our DRC will reap the benefits of decreased handling costs and cardboard waste, in addition to attracting the consumer to organic bagged citrus."

South Tex Organics also added new machinery to its packing facility that will capture a three-dimensional color image of every piece of fruit and has the capability to sort according to grade, size and weight.

All the upgrades and modification translates to improved food safety, efficiency and a more consistent pack for their customers.
