“Village Farms was pleased to be part of the first annual New York Produce Show & Conference last year,” said Helen L. Aquino, marketing manager for Village Farms International in Eatontown, NJ. “We had an excellent turnout from all facets of the supply chain. We are looking forward to another great show this year. Visitors will find us at Booth number 1105.”
Ms. Aquino said that because the New York Produce Show falls in the second week of November, it is perfect timing for those who did not attend the Produce Marketing Association’s Fresh Summit.
“And for all those who did attend Fresh Summit, the New York Produce Show provides a wonderful chance for follow-up with customers on newly released initiatives within the company,” she added. “As it’s a smaller show than the PMA Fresh Summit, it allows more one-on-one time in a more intimate setting.”
Village Farms will be showcasing its current major rebranding effort, which includes the new company logo, new packaging and labeling concept, and new trademarked variety naming from its “Taste the Name” strategy at the New York Produce Show. (See The Produce News, Oct. 17, 2011.)
“And we’ll be featuring the new launch of our exclusive “Heavenly Villagio Marzano” tomato variety,” Ms. Aquino added. “This authentic mini San Marzano tomato was debuted for the first time in North America at the PMA Fresh Summit to show all of our customers how ‘Fresh just got Fresher.’ We also will be featuring updates on our new, recently opened packing and fulfillment facility in the Dominican Republic, and our new state-of-the-art greenhouse facility, which is nearing completion in Monahans, Texas.”
In addition to being highly sustainable, the Monahans greenhouse will be as resource-efficient, if not more so, than the company’s other greenhouse facilities, she said. It will “truly be like no other in North America.”
Village Farms is a premier North American grower-marketer of branded, high-quality hydroponic greenhouse-grown produce. The company is a wholly owned subsidiary of Village Farms International Inc., headquartered in Delta, BC, Canada.
Village Farms is undertaking these new launches, rebranding initiatives and newly constructed greenhouses so it can continue to provide its customers with consistent quality, fresh, vine-ripened product.
“We also grow the best-tasting exclusive varieties with the highest food-safety standards they have come to expect from Village Farms,” said Ms. Aquino. “And we do it 365 days a year.”
