With groves located in prime southern San Joaquin Valley growing districts, Hronis Inc. citrus offerings are devoted to premium Navels and the company’s newly introduced Minneolas. Several early- to mid-season varieties of Navel oranges — Ti, Fisher, Atwood, Washington — as well as late season varieties — Lane Late and Barnfield Navels — are expected to produce very nice size and quality this year.
Pete Hronis, company vice president and sales manager, said that the focus this year is on size and quality. While the overall crop is “about 10 percent less than last year, the sizes look very good and should peak at 72s and 56s. We plan to start around Thanksgiving and ship regular Navels through March,” he said.
“Our late Navels will start around March 1 and run through May,” Mr. Hronis said. “The size looks great and should peak at 56s, and the crop looks to have excellent skin texture. We’re planning another big year with the Hronis Barnfield Program, which is in demand all over the world.”
As for the Minneolas, shipping will “start around Feb. 1 with a very nice overall crop size,” Mr. Hronis said, and “the fruit is sizing well.”
Hronis oranges can be packed according to individual store needs and are readily available in bulk, cartons, bags or RPCs. And with the company’s auto grader in its citrus packinghouse, the company can ensure the packs are as consistent as possible. Hronis Inc. recently added more citrus pack stations, increasing its capacity by approximately 30 percent.
Fancy-grade citrus labels include “Hronis Ranch,” “Barnfield,” “Golden” and “South Coast.” “Delano King” and “Hollywood & Vine” are the company’s labels for choice oranges.
Along with selling in the United States, Hronis’ sales also include Australia, New Zealand, Korea, Japan and China.
The company is committed to providing quality citrus and table grapes to clients, ranging from small fruit stands to major chain grocers.
