Homegrown names sales category manager

Homegrown Organic Farms, a marketer of fresh organic produce based in Porterville, CA, announced that Stephen Paul has been hired as stonefruit commodity manager.

Mr. Paul has a background in California agriculture, with experience in family farm operations as well as value-added fruit programs. He worked for more than 15 years at Pipco Fruit Co., a grower-packer in the Fresno, CA, area and is the founder and creator of Bouquet of Fruits, a gourmet gift company.

Mr. Paul will be charged with enhancing the overall mission of Homegrown Organic Farms, and his initial responsibility will involve learning Homegrown’s systems of operation and eventually laying the groundwork for next year’s stonefruit season.

“I was attracted to Homegrown because of the company’s overall core beliefs and values,” Mr. Paul said in an Oct. 10 press release. “I believe what John France and Tom Avinelis have built with Homegrown Organic Farms remains on the cutting edge of the organic industry. I am delighted to be a part of this great team.”
