Kingston & Associates Marketing LLC, a leading distributor and marketer of fresh produce to the restaurant and cruise line industries, announced its plan to begin integrating with its Southeast warehouse facility, Kingston Cross Dock & Cold Storage.
Kingston Marketing President Ken Nabal said in a press release, “Our presence in the south Florida market is a huge opportunity for our operations. By integrating these related companies and better utilizing the strengths of each, we are able to improve our customer service and aggressively price our family of products. With this change, we will be better positioned for future growth with new programs.”
Acquired in 2007, the facility’s 55,000 square feet of cold storage space has proven invaluable in the import and distribution of fresh produce programs from Central America and South America. It’s convenient location in Pompano, FL, and quick access to Port Everglades makes it an ideal East Coast office location for Kingston & Associates Marketing — a location where Mr. Nabal has an office and spends the majority of his time.
“Our team has spent years growing and developing our core food businesses at Kingston,” Dave Kingston, chief executive officer and majority owner of the businesses at Kingston Cos., added in the press release. “It is time we begin vertically integrating these businesses such that our operations and our customers benefit from these synergies. Our company prides itself on its service level and long-term relationships within the industry.”
With the 2010 expansion of its trucking and logistics company, Associated Trucking, into the south Florida market, Kingston will now integrate its sales, marketing, cold storage warehousing, cross-docking and logistical services together to better serve its customers within each segment of the business. The company also continues its farming operations.
In Florida, the team at Kingston Cross Dock is also excited about the announcement.
“We have worked very hard to expand our footprint in the local market, and with Kingston & Associates now working from the facility, our presence continues to grow,” Dennis Carroll, manager of Kingston Cross Dock, added in the press release. “This move will help improve everyone’s ability to provide customers with additional services.”
