Freshway Foods launches convenience snack line

Freshway Foods, based in Sidney, OH, announced June 22 the rollout of its new “Snack Takes” personal-size healthy snack line. These on-the-go treats are available in both fruit and vegetable blends and each includes a signature dip for an added punch of fun and flavor.

According to the company, “Snack Takes” are a low-calorie snack that are ideal for consumers of all ages to enjoy in sack lunches, as an after-school treat, office pick-me-up or as a before-game energy boost. The initial rollout of the “Snack Takes” product line includes sliced apples and grapes with caramel dip (four-ounce tray); sliced apples with caramel dip (four-ounce tray); celery and carrots with ranch dip (four-ounce tray); and whole strawberries with chocolate dip (4.5-ounce tray).

“We are thrilled that our latest product line expansion is a consumer-focused snack solution,” Dan Purdy, vice president of sales and marketing at Freshway, said in a June 22 press release. “Our entire fresh-cut business is built on the commitment of delivering healthy, great-tasting products that provide an extra layer of value to the end user, and we believe that expanding into fun and convenient snack solutions is a natural next step. We can’t wait to introduce the new items we’ll be adding to the “Snack Takes” core four very soon.”

Freshway Foods began production on “Snack Takes” in early June and is distributing them to select retailers and foodservice customers in its distribution area east of the Mississippi River.
