RPE announced that Tron Crumley and Sue Rodriquez have joined its sales team. Both individuals will be based in RPE’s new Blackfoot, ID, office.
Mr. Crumley and Ms. Rodriquez will report to Clay Gustaveson, RPE’s director of foodservice sales, who will split his time between his current office at RPE-Idaho in Rupert and the new office in Blackfoot.
“Sue and Tron are both well-known and respected within the produce industry,” Mr. Gustaveson said in a press release. “I had the pleasure of working with Sue at Sunspiced of Idaho 13 years ago and am very excited that she and Tron have joined our team.”
Ms. Rodriquez’s experience in the produce industry began at a young age. Growing up on a farm, she picked rocks, drove tractor and worked during fall potato harvests. During her senior year in high school, Ms. Rodriquez began working at Sunspiced/Basic American Foods and served in various roles throughout the company for 24 years, ending her tenure at Sunspiced of Idaho as a sales manager. She then went on to work for Nonpareil Fresh, where she served as a sales representative for 12 years.
“RPE is such a dynamic company, and I am excited to work with the innovative people who keep the company moving forward,” Ms. Rodriquez said in the press release. “I am proud to be part of a company that’s so connected to its growers since I’m still a farm girl at heart.”
Mr. Crumley also comes to RPE from the Nonpareil Corporation, where he worked in fresh and dehydrated potato sales for 17 years, most recently serving as the industrial ingredient sales manager. Like Ms. Rodriquez, Mr. Crumley grew up in the agriculture industry. His family grew potatoes, grain, sugar beets and other commodities.
“I am very excited to be working at RPE,” Mr. Crumley said in the release. “It’s an outstanding organization — from farming, packaging, marketing and distribution — RPE has become the premier source for potatoes and onions.”
RPE’s new Blackfoot office will serve as the home office for Mr. Crumley and Ms. Rodriquez and will allow them to further develop relationships with Idaho potato growers. The new office will serve as an extension of the existing RPE-Idaho office located on-site at Sun Valley Potato Growers Inc. in Rupert. RPE also opened its Texas office last May. The company now has 10 offices in nine states.
“Our goal is to invest in team members who can connect with our customers and our growers and meet our goals as we continue to expand our growing and packaging operations in order to provide quality, year-round supplies to our customers,” said Russell Wysocki, president and chief executive officer of RPE. “The value, knowledge and experience they bring will certainly help us to continually strive to serve our customers as a category expert for potato and onion growth.”
