Organizers of two Russian horticulture trade shows announced an agreement Jan. 15 in Moscow to hold their two fairs on the same dates in the same building to cover the complete span of Russian floriculture, gardening and landscaping in one event.
The All Russian Exhibition Centre and Messe Essen of Germany, sponsors of the Flowers IPM show, and HPP Exhibitions of Holland, sponsor of Expo Flora Russia, will hold their shows Aug. 28-31 in the All-Russia Exhibition Centre in Moscow, according to news releases from the sponsors. The organizers said they are making plans to expand exhibit hall space for both shows to around 280,000 square feet.
The traditional Moscow-based Flowers IPM has been held in the All Russian Exhibition Centre for 20 years and is a leading show for gardening and landscaping in that country. Last year, Poland, Germany, Denmark and Korea were represented at the Flowers IPM show with large country pavilions.
Expo Flora Russia of HPP Exhibitions adds cut flowers and floriculture to the event. Expo Floral Russia debuted in September 2011 in Moscow with 200 exhibiting growers, breeders and suppliers from 17 countries.
In 2013, the cooperative trade fairs will receive official support from the Russian Ministry of Agriculture and from the City Administration of Moscow.
