Liberty Fruit in Kansas City, KS, received the 2012 Business Philanthropist of the Year Award from the Mid-America Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals.
Liberty Fruit, a family business since 1965, was built and run by three generations of the Caviar family.Dedicated to feeding the hungry, the Caviars donate fresh produce to Bernilde Hall, Operation Breakthrough, Little Sisters of the Poor and others. They help repair homes through the Armourdale Renewal Association and provide key support for programs at Children’s Mercy Hospital.
They were nominated for this award by Children’s Mercy Hospitals & Clinics, Benilde Hall, Armourdale Renewal Association, Harvesters-The Community Food Network, Little Sisters of the Poor and Jewish Family Services of Greater Kansas City.
