E. Armata making its exhibition debut at the 2018 New York Produce Show

E. Armata Inc., located on the Hunt Point Terminal Market, is excited to be exhibiting at the New York Produce Show for the first time this year. The exhibition trade floor opens at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 12, at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York City.

“We are excited to make our debut exhibiting at the 2018 New York Produce Show,” said Michael Armata, who oversees berry buying and sales for the family-owned-and-operated company. “E. Armata will occupy Booth Nos. 363, 365, 367 and 369.”

Another son, Nick Armata, works in sales and procurement, and daughter, Chelsea Armata, serves as office manager.

Chris Armata works alongside his brother, Paul Armata, who serves as the company’s vice president.

Also key to the E. Armata team is long-time sales and procurement manager, John Acompora.

Company representatives will have a presence throughout the New York Produce Show, which runs Dec.10-13.

“This show has always been a great experience for our team,” said Armata. “It’s an excellent opportunity to network with other industry leaders to stay in tune with current trends, build new relationships and further improve our existing relationships.”

At its exhibition booths, E. Armata will be featuring its new website, www.earmata.com, which showcases its more than 100-year history and its entry into the future of produce distribution.

“We will also be promoting our tropical department at the show, along with our E. Armata brand labels,” noted Armata. “Our long-standing relationships with growers and shippers have evolved to now enable us to carry an extensive assortment of products year-round.”

He added that the company will also be introducing Pedro Orama who helped launch its tropical department in July 2017.

E. Armata will also feature its emphasis on food safety at the event.

“E. Armata is certified by Good Management Practices, commonly referred to as GMP, and HACCP, with a 100 percent superior rating,” stressed Armata. “Also, we are in full compliance with the City of New York’s sanitation laws. Our next step in our food-safety initiatives is working toward SQF certification. Our inspectors are trained by U.S. Department of Agriculture, Agricultural Marketing Service inspection standards.”

Today, the company is considered a leading, highly professional Northeast produce distribution company with an outstanding industry reputation. Its continued goal is to maintain its business in as updated a condition as possible.

In addition to its four new units, over the past few years its entire facility has undergone a major renovation in not only its dock and warehouse space, but also in its streamlined and elegant offices.

Its long-standing stature is also attributed to the company’s focus on every detail of customer service.

Armata noted that in addition to E. Armata’s new website, the company continues to invest in its future with ongoing facility acquisitions, renovations, technology upgrades and fleet additions.

“Our newly renovated facility has temperature controlled storage, including a new fruit and vegetable house,” explained Armata. “We have a dedicated warehouse and repacking facility in a separate building at one end of the market, which organizes our racking system so every item is just a click away.

“In addition, we’ve recently expanded our fleet of trucks to efficiently keep up with our growing customer base,” he continued.

“All of our trucks are tracked for route optimization so our customers receive their orders when they need them. These new upgrades enable us to offer a large variety of produce that can be picked up easier and more efficiently than ever; either at our Hunts Point facility, or delivered by our expansive fleet of trucks at our customers’ convenience.”
