Blue Book Members will soon have convenient access to select content provided by Chain Store Guide via Blue Book Online Services.
Specifically, six data elements from on top supermarket chainstores and wholesale grocers from Chain Store Guide will be available on BBOS via the company details and Business Report. Members will find the additional information makes it even easier to thoroughly research these supply chain partners.
"Blue Book listings provide specialized, industry-specific business information that helps to facilitate the trading of fresh produce across the globe," Jim Carr, president and chief executive officer of Blue Book Services Inc., said in an Oct. 15 press release. "The addition of select data from Chain Store Guide will provide our members with a broader perspective of the operations and market coverage of top chainstores and wholesale grocers."
The Blue Book is recognized throughout the produce industry as the leading source of accuracy in reporting buying personnel, line purchasing responsibilities, commodities handled and unloading guidance. Yet sales, marketing, and credit personnel can evaluate opportunities more thoroughly with an expanded view of the business, which includes data about a wholesale grocers' geographic trading area or a chainstores' total selling square footage.

Chain Store Guide details all major retailers, restaurants, distributors and wholesalers in the United States and Canada with contact information on over 800,000 establishments.
There will be no additional charge to access the base content from Chain Store Guide.
"Our newest working relationship with Chain Store Guide combines with content syndication arrangements already in place to tangibly demonstrate that adding more value to Blue Book Membership remains a top priority," Mr. Carr added in the press release.
Although Blue Book Services is announcing this new working arrangement today, the functionality to display the Chain Store Guide content is presently in development and is expected to be available in the fourth quarter of 2011.
