Kingston & Associates Marketing LLC, a distributor and marketer of fresh produce products based in Idaho Falls, ID, announced Aug. 17 that Ken Nabal has been named president. Mike Kingston, who had long served in that position, will remain at the company to help with the transition and oversee key account relationships.

Mr. Nabal will be responsible for managing and increasing Kingston's network of key accounts and products. Kingston is undergoing an aggressive push to develop and grow its distribution network while vertically integrating its supporting businesses, and Mr. Nabal will spearhead this drive.

 

"It is critical that we continue growing and integrating our core businesses while remaining focused on the customer service and relationships that make Kingston such a great company," Dave Kingston, chief executive officer and majority owner of the businesses at Kingston Cos., said in an Aug. 17 press release. "Ken Nabal's comprehensive understanding of our industry and proven track record of success will benefit Kingston, our sales network and our customers."

Before joining Kingston, Mr. Nabal was vice president of sales and logistics at Frontera Produce, based in Edinburg, TX. Earlier in his career, he held key positions at Southern Specialties, Central American Produce and Walmart. He has hands-on experience in national account sales, customer relations, import programs and new product development.

Commenting on Mike Kingston's tenure as president, Mr. Kingston said in the press release, "Mike has been with me for 38 years. His service to all the group of Kingston Companies has been invaluable. He remains, first and foremost, my brother, in every sense of the word, and leaves an unblemished legacy for integrity, honesty and trust with our customers, suppliers and employees. For all of this, I am grateful to Mike."

Mr. Nabal, who will split his time between Kingston's offices in Idaho Falls, ID, and Pompano, FL, is a native of Philadelphia and attended college at West Chester State College. He and his wife, Susan, and their two children, Resa and Andrew, live in Delray Beach, FL.
