 partner dies at 27

Aaron Matthew Lovelace, the director of operations and a partner in Yuma, AZ-based, died unexpectedly on Sunday, May 15, after a brief illness.

Mr. Lovelace, 27, had been involved as a service provider for the produce industry for most of his life. For the last five years he managed the daily operations of BlueSky­’s on-line job center, a popular industry job board. He was the original designer of the family-owned company’s first web site in 1998 when he was just 15 years old, according to a statement from


Mr. Lovelace was very proud of the fact that the firm had helped thousands of people find employment in the produce industry over the years, the statement said, adding that he worked with many companies in the industry, most of which were longtime customers, and was well respected in the trade.

Mr. Lovelace was born in Dallas in 1983 and grew up in California’s Salinas Valley, living in Salinas, CA, and Hollister, CA.

“He loved his family and he was a great family man. He has two beautiful daughters and they were his whole life. He loved all kinds of music, trucks and barbecuing,” his father, Mike Lovelace, said in a May 18 e-mail to The Produce News.

He is survived by his wife, Qiana, two daughters Ariana, 12, and Cloey, 2, his father, Mike Lovelace, and stepmother, Duby.

Services were held at Johnson Mortuary in Yuma on Thursday, May 19.

The family suggested that in lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Humane Society of Yuma, which will soon build a new facility.

“Aaron’s wife, Qiana, works at the Humane Society of Yuma and Aaron loved animals, especially dogs,” Mr. Lovelace Sr. said in the e-mail.
