Nixa, MO-based Market Fresh Produce LLC has added produce veteran Diane Holt to its procurement team.
“Diane brings 18 years of produce experience to our already-successful procurement team led by Tyler Phipps,” Mike Kemp, chief operating officer, said in a May 2 press release.
Ms. Holt’s produce experience started with purchasing positions at Ore-Ida and Wal-Mart. From there, she went to Custom Pak Inc., where she held the position of category manager of tomatoes, and in 2001, Wal-Mart named Custom Pak its supplier of the year.
Most recently, she worked as a category manager-analyst for Falcon Farms.
In her new role at Market Fresh Produce, Ms. Holt will be the category manager focused on the tomato, pepper and avocado commodities.
She is an alumna of the United Produce Industry Leadership Program class of 2006, where she and her 11 peers participated in a yearlong extensive training program that emphasized leadership, team building, public speaking and confidence.
Steve Phipps, owner of Market Fresh, said in the release, “Market Fresh Produce continues to grow nationally. Our message of consistent-quality product and superior service is resonating with both retail and foodservice customers, who expect the very best in a produce program.”
The firm takes the position that in today’s high-demand environment, clients do not want late trucks, rejections or wasted time haggling over cost. They expect competitive pricing, on-time arrival and quality products that meet the color, cosmetic, and flavor profile specifications customers demand. The addition of Ms. Holt will allow Market Fresh to continue meeting these client expectations and add strength to its already-talented team of professionals.
