Monterey, CA-based PRO*ACT, a leading fresh produce supplier to the
foodservice industry, has been named a primary distributor for Scottsdale,
AZ-based Eddie V's Restaurants Inc.
Eddie V's operates three white-tablecloth restaurant concepts with a total of
14 units in Texas, Arizona and California. The concepts are Eddie V's Prime
Seafood, Roaring Fork and Wildfish Seafood Grille.
"Product quality was the first factor in our selection of Pro*Act," John Carver,
executive chef and partner at Eddie V's Restaurants Inc., said in a Nov. 16
press release. "We also like their ordering system and their high level of
service. We have a single point of contact and a great relationship at the
corporate level. And in each market, we have that same sort of relationship
with the local Pro*Act distributor. We're starting to introduce more organic
and specialty produce, and we're able to source a wide variety of top-quality
organics and specialties such as beautiful heirloom tomatoes through Pro*Act,
which is also a big plus for us."
In addition to fresh produce, Eddie V's relies on Pro*Act for a variety of fluid
and cultured dairy products, eggs, juice and some specialty grocery items.
