Salinas, CA-based Colorful Harvest, one of the faster growing produce
operations on the West Coast, has entered the value-added produce business
and has hired a veteran product development director to drive the program.
The company's initial product offering, a new line of packaged green beans,
was introduced at the Produce Marketing Association’s Fresh Summit
convention in Orlando, FL, Oct. 16-18.
"Our company’s growth has been phenomenal, and our new packaged and
value-added product lines will help solidify the national presence of our
popular brand," Doug Ranno, Colorful Harvest’s chief operation officer and
managing partner, said in an Oct. 14 press release. “The new packaging
options for our innovative and colorful products will give shoppers a higher
level of convenience.”
Product development and sales veteran Don Brumley has been brought onto
the Colorful Harvest team as senior director of value-added business
“We are lucky to have someone with Don’s experience to drive this program,”
Mr. Ranno added in the release. Mr. Brumley has had a career in the food and
floral industries spanning over 30 years. Formerly with Ready Pac and
Chiquita, among others, he brings a wealth of knowledge in product
development and management of sales programs aimed at major grocery
chains and clubstores.
