Jeff Stachelek joined Salinas, CA-based Mann Packing Nov. 1 to fill the firm's newly created director of trade marketing position.

In the new role, Mr. Stachelek will manage customer-specific consumer marketing activities, customized in-store marketing, specific go-to-market strategies and oversee new item rollouts.

He joins Mann with more than 20 years of food-industry experience including with the Hershey Co., where he held numerous positions of increasing responsibility such as the director of category management and director of business development-customer planning. Mr. Stachelek also spent time at E&J Gallo as the director of sales and marketing solutions.

John Haydock, senior vice president of sales for Mann, said that the firm is committed to building a world-class sales organization and that a key step in that process was the decision to create a position to lead the company’s trade-marketing initiatives.

"The director of trade marketing position will be responsible to lead the development and implementation of an on-going category management initiative, evaluation and improvement of trade promotion efficiency and effectiveness, and the development and tracking of key account strategic business plans," Mr. Haydock said in an Oct. 27 press release.

Mr. Stachelek holds an undergraduate degree in financial management from Clemson and a masters of business administration degree from Columbia State University. He works from the firm’s Salinas office.
