Idaho Potato Commission to sponsor two football teams

by | November 03, 2010
The Eagle, ID-based Idaho Potato Commission has become an official sponsor of the Boise State University and the University of Idaho football teams.

Beginning this season and for the next five seasons, Idaho's famous potatoes will be the "official team tater" and have a significant presence in both Bronco Stadium and Kibbie Dome, according to a press release from the commission, which will also be the major sponsor of the much-anticipated BSU-UI football game that is being played Nov. 12 this year at the Kibbie Dome.

As part of the Broncos and Vandals sponsorship, Idaho potatoes will receive prominent on-field signage and full-page ad space in both teams’ official programs. With recent changes announced in the Mountain West and Western Athletic conferences, future match-ups between these two teams remain uncertain, making this November’s game more exciting than ever. When scheduling does not allow the two teams to play in a given season, the IPC will sponsor one marquee game in each stadium. Regardless, the IPC will continue to support both teams with radio and television advertising and promotional giveaways that promise to fuel Idaho football fans across the state.

“We are kicking off the IPC’s new fiscal year and annual potato harvest with one of the biggest and most exciting partnerships in the commission’s history: a six-year sponsorship of two outstanding Idaho football teams, the Broncos and the Vandals,” Frank Muir, president and chief executive officer of the commission, said in the press release. “The IPC has been a longtime supporter of both organizations, and we wish both teams outstanding seasons. Go Broncos! Go Vandals!”
