by | September 26, 2010
LINDSAY, CA -- LoBue Citrus announced in late September that it has hired Rick Osterhues as vice president of sales and marketing, a newly created position. Effective Oct. 4, Mr. Osterhues will provide leadership on key sales and marketing initiatives as identified in LoBue's recently completed strategic plan.

Mr. Osterhues brings nearly 20 years of experience in business-process improvement in the produce industry. He previously worked as a division manager at Chiquita Brands International and as marketing director at the David Oppenheimer Group. Most recently, he served as director of marketing for Growers Express, one of the nation's larger suppliers of fresh vegetables.

"We're excited to welcome Rick to the LoBue team," Joe LoBue, managing partner at LoBue Citrus, said in a Sept. 27 press release. "He is joining us during a critical period in our evolution. His expertise will help us as we pursue continuous improvements in quality and customer service while renewing our focus on innovation."

Mr. Osterhues is enthusiastic about the opportunity. "It is great honor to be joining a family company with such a long-term commitment to the fresh produce industry," he said in the release. "I am looking forward to contributing to their relentless efforts to reinforce a leadership position in the citrus industry by developing creative and comprehensive solutions across the growing, packing and shipping areas of the business."

Mr. Osterhues will be relocating from Ohio to California with his family.

Founded in 1934, LoBue Citrus (formerly LoBue Bros.) is a third-generation, full-service grower, shipper and packer of citrus products, including navel oranges, specialty citrus, lemons and juice.
