SALINAS, CA -- Mann Packing Co. Inc. recently hired John Haydock as senior vice president of sales.

Mr. Haydock has spent his entire career in the food business. He began as a sales representative in 1980 with American Home Food Products. He then moved to Good Humor-Breyers Ice Cream Co., a division of Kraft, from 1985 to 1999. While there he led sales for the "Breyers," “Light n Lively,” “Good Humor,” “Popsicle,” “Klondike” and “Minute Maid” brands.

He then moved to Vlasic Foods as vice president of sales, where he implemented national account sales strategies for “Swanson,” “Vlasic” and various private-label brands.

In 2001 he became Horizon Organic's vice president of sales where he played a key role in managing the explosive growth of that company's organic milk, yogurt and dairy products.

In 2004 Dean Foods acquired Horizon Organic, and Mr. Haydock became senior vice president of sales for Whitewave Foods, a newly formed company created by Dean Foods to integrate the “Horizon,” “International Delight,” “Silk” and “Land O Lakes” brands.

Most recently he led the natural foods division of Michael Angelo's Gourmet Foods.

"John's customer focus, balanced business experience, years of sales leadership and very personable style will complement our team well," Mike Jarrard, president and chief executive officer of Mann Packing, said in a July 26 press release. "John will be responsible for leading all facets of our sales effort with the rest of the management team and ensure Mann is positioned for growth."
