Liberty offers fresh web site

Liberty Fruit Co. Inc., based in Kansas City, KS, launched a revamped web site
Scott Danner, chief operating officer, told The Produce News May 5 that the
web site "is a lot more friendly. The information is a lot cleaner. It's crisp and
provides information on our food-safety efforts. And we get our golf
tournament information out there. We have on-line ordering, people can do
job applications on-line and you can see Liberty's weekly market updates for
the last three years. It also contains our company history."
Liberty Fruit is celebrating its 45th anniversary this year, "and this is the right
time to kick this off," Mr. Danner said. The web site features the company's
processing plant and new expansion.
Mr. Danner said that Liberty has used a third party for years to handle on-
line ordering. "About 50 percent our foodservice business is on-line
[ordering] now." With the remodeled web site, Liberty will be handling on-line
With in-house management, updates and changes "are instantaneous."
