Southern Specialties names sales manager

Southern Specialties, based in Pompano Beach, FL, announced May 3 the promotion of Susana Troop to sales manager, a newly created position. Ms. Troop, who has been with the company for six years, formerly served as key account manager.

Charlie Eagle, vice president of business development for Southern Specialties, told The Produce News May 3 that Ms. Troop will oversee daily sales from the company's Pompano Beach sales office and will report to Shannon Barthel, director of sales and marketing.

"Susana’s product knowledge, industry experience and passion to serve our customers make her ideally suited for the position," added Tim Meissner, chief operating officer of Southern Specialties.

Southern Specialties is a grower, importer, processor and shipper of specialty produce from the United States, Canada, Central America, and South America.

The company markets its “Southern Selects,” “Paradise Tropicals,” “Fiesta Fresh” and “Today’s Gourmet” line of products from its distribution facilities in Pompano Beach, FL, McAllen, TX, and Los Angeles.
