Earthcycle a key component of sustainability conference at United

by | April 19, 2010
Earthcycle Packaging Ltd., a leader in the sustainable packaging industry, is set to deliver and lead one of the more highly anticipated speeches and discussions at United Fresh's 2010 inaugural Global Conference on Produce Sustainability.

The conference, set to take place Friday, April 23, at the Venetian Resort in Las Vegas, is designed to educate attendees not only about the importance of working toward long-term sustainability to protect the environment but also about how making the right choices can actually help increase market sales.

Shannon Boase, Earthcycle's founder and chief executive officer, will be leading the address with her presentation, Communicating Your Commitment to Sustainability. As the title suggests, it will deal with the many questions surrounding this emerging technology that today's growers, producers, packers, shippers and retailers will have to answer in the coming months. "What should we be asking of our packaging suppliers?" and "What are the FTC guidelines on green marketing?" are examples of the questions that attendees can expect to have answered.

"I'm excited to share some of the information Earthcycle has gathered over the last six years with so many of my colleagues in the produce industry," Ms. Boase said in a press release. "It should be a lively learning discussion as we dispel some of the myths surrounding the concept of 'going green' and focus on using new technologies to be both environmentally responsible and profitable at the same time."
