Keith Wilson joines Flavor Tree

by | January 17, 2010
Keith Wilson joined Flavor Tree Fruit Co. LLC in Hanford, CA, Jan. 1 as national retail sales manager, reporting to Maurice Cameron, the firm's global sales manager.

"I am responsible for development of the domestic sales and marketing program," Mr. Wilson told The Produce News Jan. 12.

The company is the exclusive sales agent for Warmerdam Packing, which grows and packs California cherries, white-flesh and yellow-flesh California peaches and white-flesh and yellow-flesh California nectarines, he said. He noted that Flavor Tree Fruit Co. is a new entity formed by Mr. Cameron in partnership with the Warmerdam family.

"I have worked in produce for over 28 years," Mr. Wilson continued. "My most recent position in the business was vice president of sales and marketing for Sunny Cove Citrus LLC. I had worked at Sunny Cove for three years. Sunny Cove Citrus was purchased last year by Booth Ranches, which resulted in my termination as well as the termination of all management employees. Previous to joining Sunny Cove, I had worked for two seasons at HMC Marketing in sales, three years at Sunkist Growers' national accounts office as a category manager, two years at Shurfine International as director of produce and 18 years at The Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Co.'s Fresno field buying office in a host of positions. During my last nine years of employment at A&P, my position was director of produce for the Fresno field buying office."

Mr. Wilson graduated from Cal Poly-San Luis Obispo in 1981 with a bachelor's degree in agriculture business management. He resides in Visalia, CA, with his wife, Peggy, and two daughters.

"My family and I live on a small farm where we grow English walnuts," he said. "Aside from spending time with my family, my interests are hunting, fishing and golf."
