Leafy Greens Council leaders to report on USDA hearings Oct. 4 in Anaheim

Three Leafy Greens Council leaders will report on the recent U.S. Department of Agriculture hearings regarding the proposed National Leafy Greens Marketing Agreement at the council's annual Leadership Conference at 9:30 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 4, in Room 303A at the Anaheim (CA) Convention Center.
Scott Horsfall, chief executive officer of the California Leafy Green Products Marketing Agreement, and Joe Pezzini, vice president and chief operating officer of Ocean Mist Farms, testified at the initial hearings held Sept. 22-24 in Monterey, CA. Charles Hall, executive director of the Georgia Fruit & Vegetable Association, is scheduled to testify Sept. 30 and Oct. 1, at the Jacksonville, FL, hearings
Council members and guests attending the Leadership Conference are invited to participate in the panel discussion.
The USDA will hold five more hearings during October: Oct. 6 in Columbus, OH; Oct. 8 in Denver; Oct. 14-15 in Yuma, AZ; Oct. 20 in Syracuse, NY; and Oct. 22 in Charlotte, NC.
