The Pear Bureau Northwest, headquartered in Milwaukie, OR, has teamed with breakout artists Honor Society to promoted U.S. pears during the band's 2009 tour.

Honor Society, which hails from New Jersey, has a MySpace following of over 40,000 friends and over 2.5 million plays of their songs on the band's profile. In a musical coup, Honor Society -- which is touring 19 different cities this year during its Full Moon Crazy Tour -- also will be warming up teen audiences in North America for the Jonas Brothers, the wildly popular teen rock band hitting the road on its 2009 world tour.

The Pear Bureau Northwest has joined with Honor Society as a team sponsor to promote U.S. pears through a newly developed integrated marketing program.

"Pivotal to the mix is an exciting contest that allows entrants a chance to 'Pear Up' with Honor Society with ticket giveaways and special chances to win a meet-and-greet with the band as they tour North America," said Dennis James, director of marketing for Pear Bureau Northwest.

As part of the promotion, tickets and passes to meet Honor Society can be won by visiting www.usapears.org. Retail partners in each of the metropolitan areas hosting Honor Society have also signed on to promote pears and sponsor consumer contests to keep the house rocking through December.
