Driscoll promotes Greg Andersen

by | June 30, 2009
Driscoll Strawberry Associates has named industry veteran Greg Andersen as its new retail sales manager. He succeeds Tim Youmans, who was promoted to vice president of sales in March.

Mr. Andersen will be responsible for all retail program planning and sales activities for U.S. and Canadian accounts.

"My job is creating and cultivating relationships with our key retail partners for the long term," Mr. Andersen said in a press release. "That means planning for the continuing profitability of some of our key stakeholders -- the retail customer and the grower -- and delighting consumers with the finest berries."

As retail sales manager, Mr. Andersen will lead Driscoll's retail sales team consisting of sales representatives, account managers and coordinators. He will work closely with Driscoll's category management team to develop and coordinate sales and promotional activities for U.S. and Canadian accounts.

A Salinas, CA, native whose grandfather owned a neighborhood food store, Mr. Andersen has been in the berry business for 15 years and has been with Driscoll since 1998. He graduated from Fresno State, where he was an intercollegiate tennis player. He is a 2007 graduate of the United Leadership Program and a 2008 graduate of Driscoll's Leadership Institute.

"Greg has been a leader both at Driscoll's and within the industry," Mr. Youmans added in the press release. "He is a strong communicator and an expert in the berry business. He will be leading a team of top-notch retail sales professionals as we prepare ourselves for the coming years, and I am very excited to have Greg in this capacity."
