Bifulco's Four Seasons Cold Storage Inc., based in Pittsgrove, NJ, has received a 'superior' rating after a recent audit by PrimusLabs.
"I was very pleased when our facility received 96, a 'superior' rating, on December 17," Mickey Bifulco, president of Bifulco's Four Seasons Cold Storage, said in a Dec. 29 press release. "Our service is, and always will be, the most important part of our business. We are starting our third year with our 5,000-square-foot forced-air room, where we can precool 84 pallets at one time. This room is becoming a big part of our business from product picked up at airports and product coming out of fumigation. We can return the product to its correct temperature very quickly."
Mr. Bifulco added in the press release that repalletizing and repacking from poor quality to clamshells are other important services provided by the company.
U.G.M Transport Inc. handles storage loads and containers off the piers to Bifulco's Four Seasons Cold Storage and loads from pier to pier. The firm specializes in less-than-truckloads to northern New Jersey, New York, Boston, Philadelphia and Maryland.
"When an importer has one pallet that he wants to be delivered on Saturday, for example, you can't tell him to wait 'till Sunday, you take care of it," Mr. Bifulco said in the press release. "We all work hard and give 110 percent. Anyone in the produce business knows that if you don't, you can't be successful."
